YION Frequently Asked Questions
About YION
Company information, certifications, and compliance
Q1: Where are YION's manufacturing facilities located?
A1: Both of our factories are right here in Jiangmen, Guangdong, China. We keep things specialized: one factory handles industrial non-woven abrasives, and the other focuses on floor pads and filter pads. Together, we've got about 20,000 square meters of production space, fully equipped with automated lines.
Q2: How many years of experience does YION have?
A2: We started way back in 1999. We have over 25 years of experience under our belt. We began with manual production, but we've upgraded to fully automated lines to ensure consistency.
Q3: Which industries does YION serve?
A3: We cover three main areas: • Household: Scouring pads and scrub sponges. • Commercial: Floor pads for property management and heavy-duty kitchen cleaners. • Industrial: Non-woven abrasives for metalworking, automotive, electronics, and woodworking.
Q4: What quality certifications does YION hold?
A4: We're fully certified for ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Safety). We're also BSCI audited. Most importantly for our EU customers, our products comply with REACH regulations. We even have a CNAS-accredited lab on-site to test everything ourselves.
Q5: Are YION products REACH compliant for the EU market?
A5: Yes, we do. All our scouring pads, floor pads, and abrasives meet EU REACH standards. If you need the documentation for customs, just let us know.
Product Information
Product models, materials, specifications, and features
Q1: What are YION's main industrial scouring pad models?
A1: We've got six core models that cover everything from coarse to fine: 7521, 7488, 7447, 7445 (White), 7440, and 8698. They're widely used in automotive and furniture manufacturing for deburring and polishing.
Q2: What are YION's industrial pads made of?
A2: We use a blend of nylon and polyester fibers, bonded with resin and loaded with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide. The open-web design stops them from clogging up during use.
Q3: What do the floor pad colors mean?
A3: We stick to the international standard: • Black: Stripping. • Brown: Heavy scrubbing. • Red: Daily cleaning. • White: High-speed polishing. • Blue: Non-abrasive cleaning. • Green: Deep cleaning. • Pink: Marble crystallization.
Q4: What abrasives do you use?
A4: We mainly use Silicon Carbide (great for plastics and non-ferrous metals) and Aluminum Oxide (tougher stuff for steel and alloys).
Q5: What are YION filter pads used for?
A5: They're versatile. You'll find them in HVAC filters, paint booth mist collectors, aquarium filters, and even oil-water separators in factories.
Q6: What's the difference between scouring pads and scrubbing sponges?
A6: A scouring pad is solid abrasive material-great for heavy-duty pot scrubbing. A scrubbing sponge has a soft sponge side plus an abrasive side, which is better for general dishwashing.
Q7: How is non-woven abrasive different from sandpaper?
A7: Sandpaper has a rigid backing and a single layer of grit. Non-woven abrasives are 3D fiber networks. They're flexible, they don't clog as easily, and they won't change the dimensions of the part you're working on.
Usage Guide
Product selection, application, compatibility, and maintenance
Q1: Can YION pads replace steel wool?
A1: Definitely. Unlike steel wool, our pads won't shed metal fragments or rust. They give you a consistent finish without scratching the substrate, and they're much cleaner to use.
Q2: Which pad should I use to strip old wax?
A2: Use the Black pad. It's designed for heavy stripping on marble, terrazzo, or concrete. Pair it with a 175–350 RPM machine and a good stripper solution.
Q3: Which pad is best for daily floor maintenance?
A3: The Red pad is perfect for daily upkeep. It removes dirt without damaging the floor finish. If you're dealing with a super dirty warehouse floor, you might want to step up to the Green or Blue pad.
Q4: Which pad gives the maximum shine?
A4: For that mirror-like finish, use the White pad. It's non-abrasive and works best on high-speed burnishers (1,500+ RPM) on marble, granite, or sealed concrete.
Q5: Are YION pads compatible with rotary and orbital machines?
A5: Yes. Our pads work with standard rotary machines (175–350 RPM) and high-speed burnishers. We stock common sizes like 13", 15", 17", and 20". Need a custom size? Just ask.
Q6: How often should I replace pads in a commercial kitchen?
A6: In a busy restaurant, replace them every 1–2 weeks, or sooner if they start to fray or lose effectiveness. You can sanitize used pads in a commercial dishwasher.
Q7: Will YION pads scratch non-stick cookware?
A7: No. We make specific "non-scratch" pads for non-stick, ceramic, and glass surfaces. Just make sure you order the right grade. Our heavy-duty pads are meant for uncoated metal only.
Q8: What's the difference between non-woven abrasive and sandpaper?
A8: Sandpaper has a rigid backing and a single layer of grit. Non-woven abrasives are 3D fiber networks. They're flexible, they don't clog as easily, and they won't change the dimensions of the part you're working on.
Order & Service
OEM/ODM, ordering, samples, shipping, and MOQ
Q1: Does YION offer OEM/ODM services?
A1: Yes, we do full OEM and ODM. Whether you need to tweak the grit size, change the color, or create a completely custom formula, we can handle it. Many international brands already trust us for private labeling.
Q2: What's the lead time for custom OEM orders?
A2: Once the sample is approved, production usually takes 15–25 working days. If it's urgent, we can often expedite it. Stock items ship from our Jiangmen warehouse within 24 hours.
Q3: What's the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
A3: It depends on how custom you want to go. For simple changes (like color or label), the MOQ is pretty flexible. For full custom formulations, we'll need to quote based on the specifics. Some standard stock items have no MOQ at all.
Q4: Can YION filter pads be cut to custom sizes?
A4: Sure thing. We supply them in rolls or sheets, and we can cut them to fit your specific HVAC units, paint booths, or machinery.
Q5: Does YION offer free samples?
A5: We're happy to send free samples to serious buyers. For custom OEM projects, there might be a small sample fee, but that usually gets deducted from your first order. Just cover the shipping, or we can arrange freight collect.
Q6: Why buy directly from YION?
A6: Cutting out the middleman means better prices. You get direct access to our engineers for custom jobs, and you know exactly where your product is coming from. Plus, we're only a quick trip away in Guangdong if you want to visit the factory.
Q7: How fast is delivery for stock items?
A7: Pretty fast. We ship stock items within 24 hours of payment. By air, you're looking at 3–7 days; by sea, it's 15–30 days depending on the destination.
Production
Manufacturing process and quality control
Q1: Can you describe YION's production process?
A1: It's a tightly controlled process: We form the fiber web, impregnate it with resin and abrasives, cure it, and then die-cut it. Every batch is checked to meet our ISO 9001 standards.
